Dr Kevan Manwaring


Dr Kevan Manwaring is Programme Leader on the MA Creative Writing (online) and Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Arts University Bournemouth. He is the convenor of Writing the Earth – an annual programme of events for Earth Day. He is the author of The Long Woman, Windsmith, The Well Under the Sea, The Burning Path, This Fearful Tempest, Lost Islands, Desiring Dragons, contributor to Storytelling for Nature Connection (Hawthorn), Coastal Environments in Popular Song (Routledge Bioethics), and editor of Heavy Weather: tempestuous tales of stranger climes (The British Library). He has contributed articles to Writing in Practice, New Writing, English Review, and Gothic Nature, and the New Nature Writing editor for Panorama: the journal of travel, place, and nature. An academic consultant for BBC 4’s The Secret Life of Books, and a contributor to BBC Radio 3’s Free Thinking, he has much experience as a storyteller, poet, and guest speaker. He blogs as the Bardic Academic.
